Ottawa, October 31, 2019 – The National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) today announced the appointment of Kieran Jordan as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 25, 2019. 

“After an extensive and rigorous search, we are delighted to have attracted a CEO of Kieran’s caliber’’, said NDHCB president Heather Biggar. “She has the strategic vision, management expertise and consensus building skills that will engage our board, staff and stakeholders in shaping the future of our organization.”

Ms. Jordan is a recognized leader in health and social services, with extensive experience in quality, risk and performance measurement; accreditation; and, change management.  She holds a Masters of Health Administration and a Masters of Science (Health Care Quality) and is a past winner of the Award of Excellence (Eastern Ontario) presented by the Canadian College of Health Service Executives. She comes to the NDHCB from Universities Canada, where she is currently Director of Programs.  Prior to that, she served as Director, Standards and Director, Assessment Programs at the Health Standards Organization. Previously, she was employed by Accreditation Canada, in a series of progressively responsible leadership roles. Ms Jordan said of her appointment: “I am thrilled to be joining NDHCB and look forward to working with stakeholders across the country to deliver high-quality, reliable testing mechanisms.”  


The National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) exists so that Canadian Regulators, acting in the public interest, have testing mechanisms for assessing current dental hygiene competencies. The NDHCB is responsible for the development, administration, scoring and results reporting of the National Dental Hygiene Certification Exam. Based on successful completion of the Exam - a written examination to assess a candidate's readiness for entry-to-practice per nationally established practice and education standards, the Board issues the National Dental Hygiene Certification Certificate.
